• Your insurance card, or your CDCP letter or member number
• Whether anything hurts — say so, because that changes how the day gets arranged
• Which mornings or afternoons genuinely work for you
• The entrance is step-free from the car park.

The phone is faster. This is for the evenings and weekends when it is not answered, and for people who would rather not ring.

Say it is pain and the answer changes

Dental pain is triaged, not queued. Say on the phone that something hurts and the front desk looks for space today rather than offering the next open recall slot.

If the schedule genuinely cannot absorb it, you will be told that on the phone and pointed somewhere that can, rather than left waiting for a call back.

Booking for the whole household

Ask for a family block. Say how many people and their ages, and the office will tell you what is possible that week. Thursday evenings and early Fridays exist for exactly this, so school and work do not have to move.

A child's first visit can be booked alongside a parent's appointment, which usually makes it one trip instead of two.

What the first visit costs

Nothing is charged before it is agreed. Every treatment plan is handed over with the fee beside each line and the insurance estimate beside that, and if numbers change once treatment starts, the plan goes back on the screen first.

Fees are quoted in writing per tooth and per surface at the appointment, never from a website.
