What it is

It is a sequence, not an appointment.

The post goes in and the bone grows around it, which takes months and cannot be hurried. Only then does the crown go on. People often hear a single figure and assume it covers everything; we set out the whole sequence and the whole cost at the start so there is no second conversation about money halfway through.

What the visit is like

The whole sequence.

  1. Assessment and imagingWhether there is enough bone and where the nerve and sinus sit. This decides feasibility, and whether grafting is needed first.
  2. PlacementA surgical appointment with sedation available. Grafting, where required, may happen at the same time or before.
  3. IntegrationMonths of healing while bone grows around the post. Nothing is loaded during this.
  4. The crownA separate restorative stage with its own appointments. Then cleaning instructions, which decide the long-term result more than anything else.

Cost and coverage

You should never be surprised by a bill.

Every plan arrives with the fee beside each line and the insurance estimate beside that, before you agree to anything. We submit to your plan directly where it allows it, and we are set up for the Canadian Dental Care Plan.

Fees for this are quoted in writing after an exam, per tooth and per surface. Nobody can price it accurately from a website or over the phone.

Do you place implants here or refer?
Routine cases are placed here. Where a case involves significant grafting, or anatomy better handled by an oral surgeon, we refer you and say why. The dentists here are general dentists.
How long does the whole thing take?
Usually several months from placement to crown, because integration cannot be rushed. Where grafting is needed first, longer. You get the timeline in writing.
Do implants last forever?
No, and nobody can promise that. They can and do fail, most often through inflammation and bone loss around them, which is why cleaning and regular checks matter. We will give you a realistic picture rather than a guarantee.
